Holidays Considered for OHIP Billing 2022/2023

What days are considered OHIP billing holidays when holidays fall on a weekend in 2022/2023?

Answer

Holidays for Non "H" prefix Emergency Department:

• Christmas Day:  The Friday before - December 23rd 
• Boxing Day:  Monday December 26th 
• New Years Day: The Ministry would consider either the Friday before (December 30th) OR the following Monday (January 2nd) – as determined at the choice of the physician.

Holidays for "H" prefix Emergency Department:

• Christmas Day:  The Friday before - (December 23rd) will be considered a Holiday
• New Years Day: The Ministry would consider the Monday following New Years Day (January 2nd).
• December 25 through December 31 (inclusive)
