Billing Profiles (web only)
Our customers tell us they like to have different billing settings depending on their practice. This is particularly useful for physicians who work at different locations. The Billing Profile (web only) feature allows for different settings to co-exist within your MDBilling.ca account.
Some common use cases for this feature are:
- Billing in different locations
- Sub-specialty vs. medicine billing
- Clinic vs. inpatient billing
- Group vs. solo billing
Let's review a few examples:
Use Case 1: You are a Respirologist who bills for both outpatients and Internal Medicine inpatients.
You can set up the Billing Profile called "Clinic" with the following settings:
- Facility: Outpatient/No Facility
- Enable Last Diagnostic Code for Patient
- Favourite codes: A475A, A47XA, E078A
and another Billing Profiled called "Medicine Inpatient" with the following settings:
- Facility: North York General (AT)
- Enable Last Admission Date for Patient
- Favourite codes: A135A, E082A, C135A, IPTMA
Use Case 2: You are a GP Hospitalists who also care for elderly patients at a nursing home at a different location.
You can set up the Billing Profile called "Hospitalist" with the following settings:
- Facility: North York General (AT)
- Enable Last Admission Date for Patient
- Favourite codes: IPTMA, A933A, E082A
and another Billing Profiled called "Nursing Home" with the following settings:
- Facility: Caressant Care Nursing Home
- Enable Last Diagnostic Code for Patient
- Favourite codes: W003A, W008A, W872A
Available settings:
A unique Billing Profile can be configured with the following settings:
- Time-saving preferences
- Templates
- Favourite codes
- MOH Group default
- Patient Database default
- Forms & Document Details
How do I create & assign a profile?
Navigate to the web: Top right --> [Gear Icon] --> Billing Profiles --> Enable this feature
Once you have setup your Billing Profiles.. you will experience a pop-up menu when you first login allowing you to select a profile.
