What is the admission date for outpatient service

Question

When doing a claim for an outpatient encounter/consult, do I need to fill in the "Admission Date" - or does this refer to admission to a hospital inpatient setting? Will I ever use "Admission Date" in the outpatient clinic setting?

Answer

No need to use the admin date with outpatients. Only used for inpatients.
