How to get a patient's OHIP version code

Question: 

What is the best way to get a patient's correct version code?

Answer: 

You will need to contact the patient for the new version code. If the patient has not renewed their health card, you will need to ask them to visit a Service Ontario office to have their card renewed. If you work at a hospital, they will be following up with the patient for a new version code, so you can check with the hospital’s database and see if the new version code has been updated.
